Grand Reopening 2020

We are officially rededicating this space yet again to be a place for family updates, journaling, random thoughts and basically just a good place for us to write and post our random thoughts and memories. The plan is to take turns once a week posting, but we will see how that goes haha. Today it's me, Kelli! I renamed this blog “Mojave Hills” because Derek has accepted a job as an interventional radiologist in Kingman, AZ, and we’ll be relocating our family there this coming July! Kingman is a delightful little city situated in the Mojave Desert, just a few hours south of St. George and 1.5 hours east of Las Vegas. It is considered “high desert” and has milder weather than Phoenix. The first time we drove into town for the interview I said to Derek “We’re in Radiator Springs!” They are very proud of their Route 66 heritage. Maui 2019: Part 2

DAY 5: HANA AND BEYOND-UH!!! This was probably my favorite day.  We weren't sure how the drive was going to go with the kids but they exceeded all expectations.  It wouldn't even have been nearly as fun without them.  From waterfall jumping to hiking to chatting in the car... they rocked it.  Our first stop was at the Ku'au store for breakfast.  The owner lady was so nice and told us all her favorite stops.  Even though we already had a plan it was nice to know that what we had planned was mostly what she recommended.  We got breakfast sandwiches and a delicious muffin and set off on our way.  Next we stopped at Punalau stream and hiked up it a ways, climbing over boulders almost the whole way, until we got to an awesome waterfall cascading down into a mint green pool.  We had left at 5:30 in the morning and by the time we got to the waterfall it was probably 7:30 or 8:00, so not exactly super warm but I jumped right in and D...
