Thanksgiving

This was our first Thanksgiving or Christmas in Idaho Falls in a long long time! I think at least 4 years. We got up at about 3:30 in order to make it to the airport in time for D to be able to get back to work on time. So we had some time to kill at MSP before our flight took off and we walked pretty much around the whole place, ate some mickey D's, and almost lost Annie when she refused to get on a skywalk.  Luckily Jack was there to save the day and run back and coax her on.  Our team name for the day was skywalker- so I kept saying "go team skywalker!" to the kids and they thought that was pretty funny.

Ba's (planes) are his most favorite.

Derek was working so he couldn't come, and we missed him a lot but we must learn to walk alone sometimes.

Speaking of which, if you want to hear the phrase "you have your hands full" at least 20 times in one day, just take four kids to the airport by yourself. hahahahah people were so nice and helpful and the kids were outstanding, but I HATE when people say that to me.  I am usually pretty chill with funny things people say when they don't know what else to say, but I LOATHE that one.  I don't know why.  It's like super harmless.

However, there were a couple people who got misty-eyed and came over to me with their hand over their hearts and said things like, "Bless you." or "You're amazing." or "Wow, what an awesome mom!" and "wow, your kids are so well-behaved!" If it were up to me these people would get Golden Tickets into heaven.

Carson picked us up in Salt Lake and drove us back to Idaho Falls!

sidenote: Carson seriously married a jewel of a girl named Marisa.  Every time I turned around this week Marisa was there, stopping Nora from falling down the stairs, feeding my kids, listening to them when I was ignoring them, basically she was an angel. She even picked up my diaper order for me the night I got in.  I luff her.

So my parents and Emily have come home from their mission to Brazil for my Dad's health.  It was soooooo good to see them!   Everyone was there on my side of the family except for Derek. :)

We hung out at my parents' duplex and watched Survivor, Black Fridayed, McDonalded, Golds Gymed, played Monopoly, ate lots of delicious food, and snuggled.  I didn't even see my older kids the whole time because they were playing with their cousins so much.  My mom and I hung out at the laundromat one day because her washer/dryer hadn't come yet, and my dad and I went on a couple good runs in the snow together.  It was wonderful being able to have some one on one time with both of them.

Oh, we also had Thanksgiving dinner.  My grandma Biddulph is super woman and cooked for all of us, plus Bonnie, Jeff, and Jake.  It was amazing, and I had a blast going to her house the day before (kidless, thanks to my super woman mother) to make pies crusts with her.

Dinner was completely delicious and so fun, however there WAS an incident involving the turkey pinata and Jack. It's one of those "you had to be there" stories which will get funnier as time goes on.

The Saturday after thanksgiving we went sledding in Grand Targhee national Forest while the rest of the fam cut down their christmas trees.  TRADITION!

major annie wipe out hahha

After Thanksgiving we spent a few days with Derek's parents.  The kids had a blast riding in their new Tesla, setting up the giant snowman family in the front yard, picking out treats at the dollar store, eating divinity and fudge by the handful, and hanging with grandma and grandpa Hill.  We watched some good British shows after the kids were in bed, and one night Jack came up and said, "Why are all adult shows British?" hahahahahaaa oh the joys of being my child.

Annie loves Alexa!

the night before we left we went to spend some time with my grandma and grandpa moore. Jack had a special moment with my grandpa as he listened to him tell a story..

My mom drove us back to the airport and of course we stopped at Maddox on the way down.  Maddox I LOVE YOU!! the way back in the airport and plane went even more smoothly.  Henry is so obsessed with planes right now (well really they all are) but he was so sad to get off the last one and couldn't wait to get back in his little seat.  Nora refused to sleep but was a very good girl.  And everyone was so excited to see Daddio!

Thanks to everyone who made our Thanksgiving so special!!

Jack watched the tigerwoods/phil match and the byu football game, glued to the screen like this.

Here are some more pics from our awesome 10 days of Idaho!!

oh and PS- These cousins are the BEST! maybe our matching jammie picture in the mountains didn't turn out exactly as we had pictured, but I like it even better this way, hahahahaha!!! perfectly imperfect.  those poor children.
